Oh hey there, I’m Erin, the hands behind Little Moon Nails & Beauty.
My values are self-expression, inclusivity and creativity, and my services prioritise best practice and high hygiene standards so you can always feel safe and cared for.
BEFORE NAILS
Before stepping into the nail and beauty industry, I spent over a decade working in the health sector. My roles ranged from providing in-home support for people with disabilities to caring for patients in hospital and residential centres. In 2018, a motor vehicle accident changed my path, leaving me physically unable to continue shift work on my feet for long periods.
NAIL TECH TRAINING
That moment became a turning point. I began exploring my passion for arts and crafts and, in 2019, I started my training with Monaco Nail Academy, completing one module at a time while still working lighter duties in my previous career. At the same time, I was also a mum to my beautiful daughter, balancing study, work, and family life.
EDUCATION
In April 2023, I was approached by Monaco Nail Academy to work with them as a mentor within the student community. This was a true honour, as I wholeheartedly believe in the Academy’s thoroughness of education and their #competitionfreezone philosophy is something I deeply resonate with. I chose to accept the role and continue upskilling while encouraging and teaching future nail technicians. The community is the centre of my nail career, and I couldn’t imagine doing any of it alone after having them.

Policies and Procedures

1. Introduction
Little Moon Nails & Beauty is a home-based studio located in Shirley, Christchurch. These Terms & Policies apply to all clients, students, and visitors who book services or training with Erin ("Little Moon", "I", "me", "we"). By booking a service, purchasing a course, or attending a lesson, you agree to these terms.
If you are booking on behalf of someone else (a client or a model), you confirm you have permission to share their details and agree to these terms on their behalf.
2. Services & Training
I offer nail and brow services at my home studio in Shirley. Service availability, prices, and locations are listed on my website or booking platform.
Training courses and lessons: course outlines, durations, and whether consumables are included will be confirmed before booking.I reserve the right to refuse service or training to anyone for any lawful reason.3. Booking & Payment
Bookings can be made via the website booking calendar, by email ([email protected]
), or through partner booking systems where applicable.
A non-refundable deposit may be required to secure any service or course. The deposit amount will be clearly stated at the time of booking.Payment Plans:Payment plans for services or training courses may be available upon request and are subject to approval. A minimum deposit will be required to secure your booking.For courses: If a payment plan is agreed upon, the full balance must be paid before the course concludes. The agreed-upon payment plan will outline the schedule and amounts for each installment. If payments are missed, services or training may be suspended until payment is made, and future bookings may require prepayment.Failure to Pay: If the full balance of the course fees is not paid according to the agreed payment plan, and no alternative arrangement has been made in writing, the remaining balance will be transferred to a debt collection agency. The client will be liable for any associated collection costs, interest, and penalty fees incurred due to non-payment.Payment plans must be confirmed in writing, and the terms will be outlined in a separate agreement.I accept payment by the methods shown on my booking system. If paying via an external payment provider (Stripe, Afterpay, etc.), their terms also apply.4. Cancellation & Rescheduling (Clients)
Please give at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a service. Cancelling with 48+ hours’ notice will allow a full refund of any pre-paid service amount minus any non-refundable deposit or be transferred to a rescheduled appointment.
Cancellations within 48 hours may incur a cancellation fee of up to the deposit amount or a percentage of the service fee. Repeated late cancellations/no-shows may require pre-payment for future bookings.No-shows (clients who do not attend and do not give notice) may forfeit their deposit and could be charged a no-show fee.5. Cancellation & Rescheduling (Students)
For training courses, please give at least 7 days’ notice to reschedule or cancel a lesson where possible.
If you cancel within 7 days of a lesson, a rescheduling fee may apply depending on circumstances and the notice provided.
Any course cancellation after enrolment will result in the loss of the course deposit.
Missed lessons (no-shows) are treated as used lessons, and the student will be required to rebook this at an additional cost. Where possible, I will offer a makeup lesson, but this cannot be guaranteed and is subject to my availability and the circumstances of the no-show.
If a course requires a minimum number of students and it is cancelled by Little Moon, students will be offered a credit note or an alternative date.6. Refunds & Deposits
Deposits are non-refundable because they secure your spot and reserve consumables/time.
Refund requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis. If you believe you have valid grounds for a refund (e.g., course cancellation by the tutor), please email [email protected]
with details.
Where goods (physical kits) are included by Little Moon and unopened, returns may be accepted within 7 days, this will be determined on a case-by-case basis. The student pays return postage unless otherwise agreed.7. Health, Hygiene & Safety
I follow strict hygiene and infection control procedures at all times. Tools are sanitised and disinfected, disposables are single-use, and workstations are cleaned between clients.
Please do not attend if you have contagious skin or nail conditions (e.g., fungal infections, open lesions) or if you are unwell. If in doubt, email first and we’ll discuss.If a condition is discovered on arrival that makes it unsafe or unsuitable to proceed, I may refuse or alter the service for safety reasons; fees or deposits may still apply.For in-person lessons, students must follow the same hygiene expectations. I will explain safe handling and PPE requirements where relevant (e.g., dust masks for certain processes).8. Consent & Medical Information
Clients and students must disclose relevant medical conditions or allergies that may affect services (e.g., diabetes, pregnancy, latex allergy, medication that affects nail health). I will treat health information sensitively and confidentially.
By booking you consent to the service and to any minor, reasonable adjustments I may make for safety.9. Minors
Clients under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and require parental consent for most services. Most services are not suitable for minors; please check before booking.
10. Student Training Rules & Assessments
Students are expected to arrive on time, prepared, and with a positive, respectful attitude.
Students must show proof of booking/confirmation and any required ID if requested.Practical assessment criteria will be provided during training. Successful students receive a certificate of completion (as stated in the course information). Certificates are awarded at the mentor's discretion following the assessment of practical competence.Follow-up support: students receive a lifetime of email/social media support after course completion unless otherwise stated or if Little Moon Nails & Beauty ceases to operate. Additional mentoring sessions can be booked at an extra cost.11. Intellectual Property & Use of Photos
Course materials, handouts, lesson plans, and training resources are copyright of Little Moon Nails & Monaco Nail Academy, where applicable, and provided for student use only.
Students may not reproduce, resell, or redistribute course materials without written permission.Photos of student work and client nails may be used for Little Moon Nails marketing (social media, website, student portfolios) unless you request otherwise in writing at the time of booking.12. Liability & Limitation
While I teach safe techniques and follow best practices, all practical work carries some risk. By participating in training or receiving services, you accept that minor risks exist.
Little Moon Nails & Beauty and Erin accept no liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss. Liability for direct damages is limited to the amount paid for the service or course, to the extent permitted by law.13. Complaints & Feedback
I aim to provide friendly, professional service. If you have an issue, please tell me as soon as possible so I can resolve it. Email [email protected]
with 'Complaint' in the subject and include booking details.
I will acknowledge complaints within 3 business days and aim to resolve them quickly and fairly.14. COVID-19 & Infectious Disease Policy
I follow public health guidance and may update procedures as needed. If you are unwell or have COVID symptoms, please reschedule and do not attend in person.
I reserve the right to require masks, screening questions, or other safety measures depending on the current public health situation.
15. Data & Privacy
I collect the personal information necessary to manage bookings, training records, invoices, and communications (name, contact details, medical info where required, and notes on student progress).
I store this information securely and only keep it as long as needed for business, bookkeeping, or legal reasons. I will never share your personal data with third parties except where required for bookings or legally required (e.g., tax reporting).

16. Changes to Terms
I may update these policies occasionally. The updated version will include the date. Continued booking or attendance after changes means you accept the updated terms.
